I am planning a trip to Banff and I cannot decide whether to go in summer or winter. In summer I want to hike and see the lakes. In winter I want to ski and see the snow. I have heard both are spectacular but for different reasons. What are the practical differences - accommodation costs, crowds, what is accessible? I have about a week. Is one season significantly better than the other or is it just a matter of what activities you prefer? Any advice from people who have been in both seasons would help.
