I am moving to Hong Kong for work and I want to learn some of the local language. I know most people speak English but I want to make the effort. Should I focus on Cantonese or Mandarin? I have heard Cantonese is the local language but Mandarin is more widely useful globally. I have no prior Chinese language experience. Which would be more useful for daily life in Hong Kong? And are there good language schools that teach Cantonese to foreigners?
