I have been in Shanghai for two months and I want to start learning Mandarin properly. I have tried apps but I need actual classes with a teacher. Are there good language schools in Shanghai that teach Mandarin to foreigners? I have heard about some university programs but I am not sure if they accept working adults. What is a realistic pace of progress for someone with no prior Chinese language experience? And is Mandarin or Shanghainese more useful for daily life here?
