Spent an evening on the splavovi (floating restaurants and clubs) on the Sava River and I finally understand why Belgraders are so proud of their nightlife. The boats are moored along the riverbank, each one with its own music and atmosphere. Started with dinner at a traditional one with live folk music, moved to a more modern one for drinks, ended up dancing at one that did not get going until midnight. The whole river comes alive at night. Belgrade nightlife is genuinely world class.
