I have been in the US for six months and I still find the tipping culture confusing. I understand 20% at restaurants but what about coffee shops where they show you the iPad? Uber drivers? Hotel housekeeping? Takeout? I feel like I am either over-tipping or under-tipping constantly and I cannot figure out the actual rules. Is there a clear guide somewhere? Also wondering if the expectations have changed recently - I have heard tip amounts have been creeping up.
