I have been working in the US on an H1B for eight months and tax season is coming up. Back home I just used a simple online form but I have heard US taxes are much more complicated, especially for visa holders. Do I need to hire an accountant or is there software that handles the foreign income and visa status stuff? Also wondering about the FBAR requirement - I still have bank accounts back home. Any advice from people who have been through this?
