Did a day trip to Ipoh from KL and I am already planning to go back for a longer stay. The old town is beautiful but the food is the real reason to go. Had white coffee at the original Oldtown cafe, bean sprout chicken that was impossibly tender, and the most incredible curry mee I have ever eaten. Everything is cheaper than KL and the pace is completely different. Two hours on the train and you are in a different world. Ipoh is criminally underrated.
