Moving to Toronto in November from Southeast Asia and I am genuinely terrified of the winter. I have never experienced temperatures below 10 degrees. What do I actually need to buy before the cold hits? I have been told to get a proper winter coat but I have no idea what to look for. Also wondering about things like heating bills, whether I need special tires for a car, and how people actually cope mentally with months of cold and darkness. Any advice from people who made the same adjustment?
