Discovered the milk bars (bar mleczny) in Warsaw and now I eat lunch there three times a week. These are communist-era canteens that somehow survived and still serve traditional Polish food at prices that seem impossible. Borscht, pierogi, kotlet schabowy, kompot - all for about 20 zloty. The decor has not changed since the 1970s, the ladies serving food are wonderfully no-nonsense, and the food is genuinely delicious. This is the real Warsaw, not the tourist restaurants.
