I have been living in Seoul for three months and my Korean is basically zero. I can read Hangul slowly but cannot understand anything people say. I am wondering if it is actually realistic to reach conversational level as an adult with a full-time job. How many hours per week did people here put in? Are language exchange apps like HelloTalk actually useful or is a proper class better? I really want to be able to have basic conversations with my neighbors and coworkers.
