Heading to Montreal next month and I've never had proper poutine. Looking for recommendations - not the tourist trap stuff but somewhere locals actually go. Bonus if it's open late!

La Banquise is the classic choice - it's open 24 hours so perfect for late night cravings. If you want something more authentic, head to Jean-Talon Market area - there are little spots there that locals swear by. Also check out Au Pied de Cochon if you want the fancy poutine with foie gras. Honestly you can't go wrong in Montreal, the poutine scene is incredible everywhere!
